Why Crypto?

Lower Transaction Fees

At the top of the list is lower transaction fees. The costs incurred from traditional payment system fees can add up. These costs can be significantly reduced by accepting a cryptocurrency like Dash. Credit card processing fees can cost a business between 1.5% to 3.5% of each transaction's total. Transactions that are considered "high-risk" may be hit with even higher rates per transaction (ie: card not present, gambling, cannabis, etc.). With crypto, depending on the coin, the same costs can be reduced down to mere cents -- regardless of merchant category.01

No Chargebacks

Accepting crypto payments also means no chargebacks, which can be incredibly costly to businesses – both in regard to the monetary value and time. A chargeback can cost your business the price of the item being disputed, as well as the chargeback fees incurred, and the time needed to dispute fraudulent chargebacks. No centralized institution can reverse the crypto payments made to your business. Your business can choose to set up refund policies on your own terms.02
With Dash, accepting crypto payments is as easy as spending your profit.

How to Send & Receive Dash

The easiest way to receive Dash as a payment from your customers is by showing them a QR code that they can scan. Both your public address and the associated QR code can be seen/copied by clicking the Receive button in the DashPay app. If you buy Dash at an exchange that is not already integrated with your DashPay app, you just need to know your public address to transfer your digital cash to the app.

There are a few ways to send Dash from your DashPay, the easiest way is by scanning a QR code. This is done by clicking the Scan to Send button in the app.

Crypto Exchange

How to Buy Dash

Sign up on a regulated and well-known exchange such as Kraken, Binance, Coinbase, or Uphold. You'll need to complete identity verification (KYC) which typically requires a government-issued ID and proof of address.
Crypto exchanges operate similarly to stock exchanges. You deposit fiat currency (USD, EUR, etc.), place buy orders for Dash at market or limit prices, and the exchange matches your order with a seller. Once purchased, Dash appears in your exchange wallet.
Many exchanges impose a temporary withdrawal hold on new accounts or after large deposits. This is typically 24-72 hours but can vary. Plan ahead to ensure you have access to your Dash when you need it.
After purchasing, your Dash sits in your exchange wallet. For maximum security, transfer it to your personal wallet (like DashPay) where you control the private keys. Simply copy your wallet address and initiate a withdrawal from the exchange.

How to Choose a POS System

If you've decided that utilizing a POS will benefit your processes, finding a system that meets the requirements and budget of your business is essential. Here are several items to consider:

Do you Need a POS?

A POS system comes with many benefits, like invoicing, inventory management, etc. Depending on the POS system you select, you may have the option to install a physical payment terminal (much like the chip/card reader for credit card transactions), create invoices, receipts, generate transaction history and reports, and even automatically convert crypto to fiat (or vice versa).

Evaluate Point of Sale Options

While you can simply use a Dash wallet, at no cost, it may be useful to utilize a Point of Sale system.

A crypto Point of Sale (POS) system is similar to traditional POS systems utilized for cash and credit card transactions but also adds the ability to receive payments in one or more cryptocurrencies.

Here are several items to consider:

How to Choose a POS System

A Point of Sale system is hardware and/or software that processes customer payments at the time of purchase. For crypto, this means generating QR codes, detecting incoming payments, and confirming transactions in real-time.
POS costs vary widely — from free software-only solutions to dedicated hardware terminals costing hundreds of dollars. Consider setup fees, monthly subscriptions, per-transaction fees, and any hardware purchases required.
Consider whether you need physical hardware (a terminal), a mobile app, eCommerce integration, invoicing capabilities, automatic fiat conversion, and multi-coin support. Match the POS features to your business requirements.
Some POS systems require technical knowledge to set up, while others offer plug-and-play simplicity. Consider your technical comfort level and whether the provider offers setup assistance and ongoing technical support.
